Jaimers

Dear Jaime,

We are only six weeks away from your first birthday. I don't know how it happened so fast. It seems like yesterday you were born.

You have developing your own little personality. You love smiling and giggling, especially at Maddi and you like to whine too if you don't get what you want! I love the way you look up to Maddi. You two are going to be best friends.

Although you only have 2 teeth, you will try to eat anything you can get your hands on. You rarely eat baby food and want whatever we are eating. Yogurt, waffles, chicken, noodles...anything!!

You are starting to move around now. You roll over all the time and are so close to crawling. You just started moving one leg forward to crawl. You just have to figure out how to move your arms too. You still love the jumper, especially at school and will jump in my arms if I tell you to. You also love dancing or shaking. You move from your hips and your whole body shakes around.

You are always calling daddy, dadada and can now say Mamama too. You've been trying to say hi too while waving. You like giving high fives and love being held.

I'm sure you don't want to hear my excuses but I'm sorry I haven't written in a while. I like hanging out with you more than typing.

Love you Jaimers!

Love,
Mom

Jaime's 1st post

Dear Jaime,

You are currently napping in the swing as I write this. You are 5 months old during this post. You were born on March 21, 2014 at 1:06p and weighed 7 lbs and 13.5 oz.

Life has been a little crazy with two kids around but totally worth it. Over the past 5 months, you have become an important part of our lives and we love you so much! Maddi thinks you are the best! You have the biggest smile that lights up your whole face! I can't help but smile when you do! You love being in the jumper and playing with the buttons and toys. You only like to nap in your swing, although you usually just cat nap. You are so close to rolling over. I think you'll figure it out in the next week or so.

You weighed 14.8 lbs at your 4 month check-up and you got your ears pierced a few weeks ago. You cried while they did it but after about 10 minutes you were fine! You look so cute with your earrings.

I've tried to give you some oatmeal and fruit but you don't seem to like it yet. We'll keep trying.

Next week I will be going back to work so you and Maddi will be going to daycare. This will be your first time away from mommy and daddy since you have been born. Although I am a little nervous about you going, I know you will be in good hands and have fun!

We love you so much, Jaime Jamz!!!! We love watching you grow and get bigger. Keep making us proud!

Love,
Mom

M: 22 months

Dear Maddi,

As of this past Monday, you are 22 months old. I can't believe your 2nd birthday is in less than two months. You are growing up too, too fast!!! During these past few months since my last post, you have developed and grown so much.

Since my last post, you now have a little sister, Jaime. She was born a week after you turned 18 months. You are such a good and helpful big sister. You try to feed Jaime her bottles, give her a binkie and rock her if she is crying. You always make sure you give her lots of kisses, hugs and tell her you love her! Our lives are a little crazy with both of you, but I am so excited to watch you both grow up together. I know you will be a great big sister!!

I am home with you for the summer and I love spending every day with you! You go to daycare 2x a week for the summer. I know you are learning a lot at daycare and we didn't want you to lose that.

Your vocabulary has improved so much over the last month. You have started talking in sentences and are always ask questions. You can sing your ABC's, count to 12, and almost know your colors (blue, green, yellow, pink, purple and sometimes red). You like to color and draw and kick/throw the ball. You really like going to the playground and going on the swings and slide. You have been in the pool a few times with daddy and seems to like it. You love listening for airplanes and helicopters and trucks and buses when we are outside. You started playing soccer but we still have some more practices to go in the season.

We are starting to work on potty training. Every once in awhile you ask to go on the potty but you aren't too interested yet. Hopefully by the next post you will be going regularly!

We are so lucky to have you in our lives!! Keep making us proud!!

Love,
Mom

18 months old

It's been awhile since I updated you on how big you are getting. You turned 18 months about a week and a half ago.

We had your 18 month check up last week and you hated being at the doctors office. You figured out that the nurses wear scrubs and give the needles, but the doctors are dressed differently so you are some what okay with them. The nurse was unable to weigh you so I had to convince you to draw on the scale so I could get your weight for them. Hopefully that trick will work for some of your other visits.

The doctor said you are doing great. You are walking (and running), talking and keeping us busy around the house. You have starting to get a little temper and try to hit/kick when you get mad/don't get what you want. Hopefully you'll grow out of that soon! You weighed 25.9 lbs and are 34" tall.

Some words you have been saying: mom, dad, yes, no, Abby, cookie, over there, hi, hello, bye, Nicki, all done, more

You can sing about half of ABC's. You like to sing itsy, bitsy spider and twinkle, twinkle little star. You also like listening/watching "Let it Go" from Frozen.

You are learning new things over day, saying more things every day. It's so exciting watching you grow and develop. Your personality is starting to show and you truly make mommy and daddy very happy!

We love you!

Mom

16 months

Dear Maddi,

Yesterday you were 16 months. I haven't written in awhile. Sorry about that!! You are starting to get a little personality and surprise us pretty regularly. You respond to most of our questions with "yes" or shake your whole body "yes" if you reay really want something. You try to say "no" but sometimes it also sounds like "stop." You usually say that when Charlie and Abby get too close while you're eating. You have been referring to everything as "da-da" and you've started to repeat "thank you." We are working on your matters young!

You had your 15 month check up a few weeks ago and weighed 25 lbs and 14 oz and measured 32.75 inches tall. You are in the 98 percentile for your height!! Keep growing, kid!! The doctor said you are perfect and saw nothing of concern at your appointment!

I'll going to stop here and write again to fill in for my missing time!

We love you, Madeline!

Mom

She's 1!!

Our little girl has celebrated her first birthday!! We celebrated your first birthday with a party and many of our family and friends came to celebrate with you! The party was at grandmom and grandpops house! You received some really nice clothes and toys! You are truly blessed and loved by many!!

It has been one of the most rewarding experiences to watch you grow during this first year! It is hard to imagine you so small and fragile; and now you are walking, talking, playing and impressing us constantly!

You have been walking since you were 11.5 months. You pulled yourself a few days before you were 11 months and were determined to figure out how to walk. It didn't take long. Now you much rather prefer walking than crawling. Occasionally you try to run! I'll give you another month and I'm sure you'll have it.

You have figured out how to use your voice. You say daddy, hi, doggie (I think) and Nicki (at least that's what she says). I am still waiting for mommy like you actually mean it. You've said mama before but I think you were just doing some baby talking.

You love Charlie and Abby now. You usually wave hi to them every morning when you come downstairs. Abby usually licks you and Charlie gets scared. You like to pull their fur and they don't really like that.

You are a really good eater. I think your favorite food right now is Mac and cheese and blueberries!! You ate a lot of blueberries this summer.

I think you are going to be interested in music as you get older. You really like when someone sings to you and you love listening to nursery rhymes. Your favorites are: the itsy bitsy spider, if you're happy and you know it, twinkle twinkle and London bridges. Your whole face lights up when those songs come on!!

Happy first birthday! Can't imagine our lives without you!

Love,
Mom

9 and 10 months

Hey Maddi,

It has been awhile since I wrote. Sorry about that!! You are officially 10 months (and 5 days) old! You are all over the place now. You crawl everywhere, on anything, and at anytime. You get so excited to get around the house. We have to pick up Charlie and Abby's bowls now because you like to splash the water around.

You had your 9 month check up a few weeks ago. You got a few needles that you hated and they checked to make sure you were growing fine! You weighed 21.3 lbs and measured 29.5 inches. Doctor said you are doing great.

We went on vacation this month down the shore for two weeks. You will visit the shore plenty of times as you grow up. Hopefully one day we can live there during the summer. Remember, its never a bad thing to DREAM! We went to the beach and the boardwalk. You didn't really have a reaction to either, but you liked the taste of salt water. You tried to eat the sand, too. We stayed in a house with grandmom, grandpop, aunt Nicki and all 3 dogs. Daddy came down for a week while we were there. You went on about 5 rides on the boardwalk; I think you'll be able to go on a lot more next year.

You have only pulled yourself up to stand once so far, but you are so close. You have been using us to get yourself up but haven't tried things around the house. I think you'll have it down before my next post.

These next couple of months are really fun. Since I am a teacher, I get the summers off. We have been hanging out together since my school year ended. Its been pretty fun so far hanging out with you. We have been swimming in the pool during the day and you really seem to like the pool. We'll have to find a swim team for you when you're a little older!!

It is hard to believe you are almost a year old. Slow down a little, please! Don't grow up too fast on me! Love ya!

Love,
Mom
